Dear Jefferson Middle School Families,

Welcome to JMS! My name is Annette Maier and I will be your scholar’s English/Language Arts, History, and/or AVID Elective teacher. I am so excited to start off this 2020-21 school year! When I started teaching at JMS I was welcome with open arms, and now I eagerly extend that welcome to you and your scholar!

There have been a lot of changes over the past few months. As saddened as I am that we are unable to physically be in our classroom together right now, I am equally excited to start off the school year with our new Virtual Academy! It will be just like in the classroom and I have been working hard to make sure our time learning together will be equally rigorous and engaging. In other words, I can’t wait to have a lot of fun while learning a lot together!

Collaborating and learning together is key, and we will focus on creating a safe and welcoming learning environment our first few weeks together as we begin our academic adventure. We will focus on our JMS Bulldog code of being safe, respectful, and responsible. 

To start off our year right, you and your scholar will find our classroom Zoom link in Google Classroom, Clever, and linked in Aeries. I will additionally post the link before our first class on Google Classroom as an announcement. 

Lastly, but most importantly, I want you to know that I look at our time together as an opportunity to work together to ensure success and positive growth for your scholar. Please feel free to contact me anytime and I know that if we work together, we can remedy any situation! Here is to an amazing 2020-21 school year! Go Bulldogs!
