Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year!  

 

I'm Mrs. Tan.  I'm thrilled to be your child's 6th-grade Language Arts, Social Studies, and ALD teacher.

 

I graduated from California State University, Los Angeles, with a Bachelor's Degree in Child Development and a Multiple-Subject Credential. My husband and I have two children. Our daughter is a freshman at Cal State Fullerton, and our son attends GAB. My husband is also a teacher. He teaches AP Calculus and AP Physics at LAUSD.

 

I have more than 14 years of teaching experience with students from K-8.  I started at Alhambra Unified School District during my early teaching years and joined San Gabriel Unified School District in 2016.  I've taught at McKinley Elementary School for a few years and transitioned to teach 6th grade here at Jefferson. 

 

With the rigorous curriculum and my high expectations, your child will be challenged this year.  However, your support and involvement with your child's education will make a huge difference.
