Concert Choir Period 4 2019-2020-4 Assignments

As discussed before, please submit videos ASAP. Please see Google Classroom posts for more info and instructions. To make this project a successful one, we need you to SUBMIT THE VIDEO. It doesn't have to be perfect, that's what editing is for! Upload it to your Google Drive, and then add it here to turn in! This is for you, for your classmates, for your community, and for you to commemorate YOUR hard work!

To help you organize, and have this on your radar (and your parents' radars!) I've created this as a Google Classroom assignment. I would like you to submit a project of your own choosing, and it can be pretty much anything - but must have something to do with music, and something to do with singing. Be creative - try something new, like play an instrument and sing along, or do a TikTok video of yourself singing, or do a cover to your favorite singer's music, or compose something on your own - you can even partner with someone else, but if you work with anyone else or do a group thing, EVERYONE must contribute equally, and you'll have to be creative and figure out how to do that online! You can use Soundtrap for that I think! Also, don't send me anything on Instagram or other social media - I have no accounts. :) It needs to be uploaded somehow to Google Drive and submitted HERE. Remember that this assignment was posted since LAST WEEK. In order to make sure I have time to grade your work and submit grades, it's due FRIDAY 5/15

Too many people have not done EMT on the Web, so I've created a Google Classroom Assignment to keep you accountable. If you have completed up to Unit 3, you can go ahead and click submit, and I will return your total scores ( based off 10% of your grade) from there.

I have to make this an assignment now, because too many of you did not do this. If you have technical issues, you should be contacting me to help you. IF/WHEN YOU HAVE COMPLETED IT, PLEASE SUBMIT THIS ASSIGNMENT. You will receive your scores through Smart Music.

Tips when doing the assignment -
1. Start by going to the music itself to practice - Find it in the Search bar on the right.
2. After trying it out and practicing and recording yourself, and making sure your system works, return to the homepage.
3. At the homepage, click on the "Start" button to do the assessment itself.

Use ONE of the parts recordings you already have in Google Classroom, RECORD YOURSELF ON VIDEO singing it, SAVE IT IN YOUR GOOGLE DRIVE, and submit it via Google Classroom by adding it as a file from your drive (mp4 format works best). Remember to also submit WHICH song you are working on - Best is to title your file with the song you are working on.

Explore Soundtrap. After you have navigated it, tried it out, and tested various aspects of it, write down in a paragraph HOW Soundtrap could be useful to you, and what are some IDEAS you may have using it with a GROUP of people. What kinds of creative projects could you have? BE SPECIFIC - "I can use it with my classmates" does not explain anything. "I can use soundtrap to record myself on the piano, while my friend can record his voice, and I will put it together" is much more specific! Use keywords that you may have found in Soundtrap! This is a CREATIVE assignment - be creative! Check it out in a way that you may find fun!

This is your first "assignment" so I know you have checked your Google Classroom, and you are checking in! :) I will be giving you "points" so you know if your answer worked, or not. But they are not "grades". Think of it as getting the highest score on your video game! You have 2 whole days to complete it!

Please create a daily schedule that you will use if you are doing online school. The schedule should include ALL your classes, though the order doesn't have to be the same, and it does have to show what your class periods are. You can certainly add your breaks and lunch in it, but everything needs to be of reasonable time (such as having an hour lunch, and not 3 hours, or ending your day at 11 PM instead of 3 PM) I'm attaching the sample schedule we talked about today. You can create it using Google Slides, or Google Docs, it doesn't matter. It doesn't have to look nice, but it must be clear and include specifics that pertain to YOU (not your friends or classmates) This is due by TOMORROW. This is also now my "test" to see how well you are following directions and checking your Google Classroom as instructed.

How do you think Jazz, Blues and Latin Music are connected? What were some key things you noticed about these 3 genres of music? In what way do these videos help you in our class? Answer these questions in a couple paragraphs, on a Google Doc. Remember to click "Turn In" to count!
