Principal's Message

At Jefferson Middle School, we believe in the three E’s: Engage, Empower, and Enrich. Jefferson Middle School is a California Distinguished School and is home to many award winning programs, such as the Robotics Club, Mock Trial Team, and the Speech and Debate Team. We believe in educating the whole child by providing all students a rigorous education in a safe learning environment, and nurturing their socio-emotional growth. Jefferson has a student centered program where students provide input in the areas they want to learn and explore, such as computers, music, AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination), or foreign languages, to name a few. We also have during and after school clubs and activities for our students to participate in, such as organized sports, ASB (Associated Student Body), FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America), and National Junior Honor Society.

Our parents and community play a vital role in the school’s success. We have a strong Parent Teacher Association that provides funding for various school programs, such as grants for teachers, field trips for students, and events for the community. The School Site Council and English Language Advisory Committee provide input to the school and monitor school programs. San Gabriel Educational Foundation provides various grants and donations to Jefferson, such as funding for our music, AVID, and school library programs.

Jefferson’s assets are its teachers and staff. Jefferson is home to teachers who are: members of State educational committees, trainers with educational organizations, instructors at local universities, and presenters at various educational conferences. Our staff is dedicated to the school by serving our students, communicating with parents, and always taking the students’ best interests in mind when making decisions.

Jefferson is a wonderful school where everyone takes pride in their work. Our students bring a wealth of experiences to our school and we work with every single one of them to help them succeed, grow, and learn. Our teachers are passionate about their work, and our parents and community care about our school.
