Current Events

Current Events is a one-semester elective course for 7th and 8th graders that is structured to give students an understanding of social, cultural, political and economic issues that affect their daily lives. Students will engage with news media in its many forms such as print, television, and documentary film. Current events are very fluid in their nature and therefore the topics and the amount of attention given to each topic will fluctuate daily, weekly, or monthly. Students are expected to participate in daily classroom discussions and activities as we analyze local, national, and international events.
