Write about how one of your possessions reveals something important about you

One-pager assignment for the story "Toolmaker".  Students have the written directions.  This assignment will be scored for both Social Studies and Language Arts classes.

 

Please turn in your directions page with the assignment.

Practicing with Show-not-Tell

 

In your Writer's Notebook, copy the "telling" sentence:  My room was a mess.   Now add 3-4 sentences showing that it was messy. ( No body functions please! )

 

 

You'll need a 3 ring binder (1"- 1 1/2") to hold your completed and graded academic words papers. You may keep the binder at home if you wish.  You'll bring the binder to school for check-ups and for Open House in the spring.

Our Academic Word of the Day begins today!  Complete as homework if not completed in class. Write the definition of the word, as it would be used in school or in a student assignment.  Write a sentence in which you demonstrate the meaning of the word. Draw and color an illustration or meaningful symbol for the word.  Check that you copied the spelling correctly and noted the part of speech.

The page of five words is due on Tuesdays.  You will have a test on Wednesdays for every 15 words ( that means every 3rd Wednesday)

 All cursive (late or late due to absence) is due no later than Wednesday.

 Last day to turn in late cursive work.
