Jefferson Middle School Reads 10,000 Books

JMS 10K Reads is a year-long challenge that will have its official kickoff on Monday, September 18, 2017. Our goal is to read 10,000 books by the end of May, 2018. Participants will include Jefferson staff, students, and their families. We will kick off the JMS 10K Reads Challenge on Monday with Mr. Arnold reading aloud to our students during their lunch periods.

We are also encouraging parents to bring or buy books to the Parent/Family Lunch on Friday 9/22 to celebrate the Book Fair.

All books that were completed starting in August are eligible for JMS 10K Reads, including books read in a language other than English. Throughout the school year, students can get 10K Reads pennants from language arts classrooms, the main office, and the Media Center. We ask that students put on each pennant the title and author of the book, their name, and a one-sentence synopsis. This information can also be submitted online using this link

Pennants should be turned in at the Main Office after they have been filled out, where they will be displayed.

Readers are also encouraged to take a "shelfy," a picture of themselves with their book, with the hashtag #jms10kreads.
